1 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who is seated on many waters, 2 with whom the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality, and with the wine of whose sexual immorality the dwellers on earth have become drunk.”
One of the seven angels poured his bowl on the papacy. The fifth angel poured his bowl on the throne, and the one who sat on that throne is the great prostitute, seated on many waters. This also relates to the throne in Revelation 2:13. We see that the papacy was on that throne, and in verse 2 it calls the papacy a great prostitute, and this prostitute will have influence far and wide. The prostitute is also seated on many waters, and the Holy Roman Empire is the many waters. This fulfills prophecy in chapter 2, 3, 12, 14, and 16. The Papal States is the seat of the papacy, and it was judged by the fifth angel. The papacy was plunged into darkness, and 2 ways that happened are in chapter 16. The anguish of the Roman Question ended in 1929 with the Lateran Treaty. The papacy was back in power, but not as a prostitute, but as the Woman riding the beast.
The kings of the earth committed immorality starting in 800 when the papacy crowned Charlemagne as Holy Roman Emperor. From there, the papacy and the crowns will be unified in power, until the break caused by the English crown with the Act of Supremecy in 1534, covered in chapter 12. They committed sexual immorality by instituting the divine right of kings and papal authority, both the crown and the prostitute claiming to have God-given authority. This sexual immorality led to persecuting martyrs, because of the reference to the wine, and being drunk.
3 And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns. 4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality.
The wilderness is a sparsely populated place, and after the papal states fell, there would be a diaspora called the Italian Diaspora. From Wikipedia, this happened starting in the 1880s primarily due to poverty and lack of land. Looking at this graph of the population of Rome, we see that it, too, was a wilderness compared to it's time as the capital of the Roman Empire, and now as one of the main headquarters of UN divisions, primarily food, agriculture and rural development.
The Woman is arrayed in purple, which was the color given exclusively to the emperors of Rome, and red is again the color of blood, so she would receive her garments from the blood of the saints. Gold is a reminder both great wealth, as well as the testing of the saints, the jewels are as of the precious stones on the ephod of the priests, and pearls remind us of the wisdom of Jesus, the pearl of great price. She has in her hand a cup of wine, the fruit of the vine, the blood of grapes. We know that believers are part of the vine, and their precious blood was sacrificed to give her the drink of abominations. She will become drunk on the power of that cup which presumes another wave of persecution for the saints, done at the hand of the Catholic Church in conjunction with the Jesuit dragon beast.
5 And on her forehead was written a name of mystery: “BABYLON THE GREAT, MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES AND OF EARTH'S ABOMINATIONS.” 6 And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. When I saw her, I marveled greatly.
In the ESV, the punctuation is incorrect, here's a quote from Young's Literal Translation: and upon her forehead was a name written: 'Secret, Babylon the Great, the Mother of the Whores, and the Abominations of the earth.' The correct placement of the word "mystery" or "secret" makes this verse able to be solved easily. Strong's defines secret as: "from a derivative of muo (to shut the mouth); a secret or "mystery" (through the idea of silence imposed by initiation into religious rites)." The word secret is a description of the name, which is Babylon, and Babylon is a religion or mindset. At this point in the prophecy, Babylon will be worshipped in secret, rather with silence imposed by initiation into religious rites. The word great describes Babylon, so this is worshipped on an expansive level. Babylon is the mother of all the prostitutes, it corrupts Christianity so the followers follow false gods. Remember this is exactly what the Israelites fought against as well. A great example of this prostitution is the book of Hosea. God told Hosea to choose a wife who was a prostitute, and that book is a mirror to Jerusalem when they committed prostitution by chasing after Canaanite gods. Again, Bab - means to speak, and El is short for Elohim, the lower "g" gods that fell according to Enoch. Bab-El is the fallen angel worship, the original false worship, the kingdom of darkness. From biblehub abominations: Strong’s Greek 946 names that which God utterly loathes—acts, objects, and systems that stand in direct opposition to His holiness. Scripture presents such abominations not as neutral mistakes but as deliberate affronts to the Creator, eliciting judgment unless there is repentance.
This is a great definition, and we can cover the majority of the essence of Babylon by looking at acts, objects and systems that oppose the Kingdom of God.
Acts - we honor God with our words, thoughts, actions and affection. We serve either the kingdom of God, or the kingdom of Darkness starting with our heart posture, revealed by faith through our works of righteousness. Luke 6:45 The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good, and the evil out of the evil brings forth what is evil. For out of the abundance of the heart, his mouth speaks. Not only are our words affected by what's in our thoughts and affection, but our faith as well. Our actions and our faith are always tied together, James 2:18 But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. This exercise of faith is proved out in both our holy pursuit or worldly pursuits. Faith in worldly pursuits is idolatry, or serving the kingdom of darkness. To be idolatrous in our faith is to be faithless. In Revelation 21:8 the faithless are thrown in the lake of fire, and in the parable of the talent, the faithless are cast into outer darkness. Matthew 17:16 I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not heal him.” 17 “O unbelieving and perverse generation!” Jesus replied. “How long must I remain with you? How long must I put up with you?
Objects - these are symbols of our allegiance, which reveals our idolatry. These are the symbols people people admire, even turning into fierce loyalty, causing people to sin by turning away from God. This is the essence of darkness. Sports teams have symbols people are loyal to. As an American, I grew up reciting the pledge to the flag, and this was idolatry. Superstars are idols, and even more innocuous things like career success, social media approval and even the denomination of church we attend can put an idol in our life. A sure way to test if something is an idol, see if there is jealousy or emotional upset if you are asked to give this up. Those fiercely loyal to sports teams are extremely emotional if their team loses. Babylon is tempting and seducing, so the godly need to heed the warning in Revelation 18:4 Then I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues;
Systems - The system of Babylon as it relates to fallen angel worship, involves reclaiming the high places that were worship centers before the flood. The Egyptian pyramids have parts of them full of water, proving they were pre-flood worship centers. The ziggurats in ancient Mesopotamia, where Nimrod was from, are also shown to have endured a flood. Temples and basilicas from all around the world resemble each other, even on separate continents. There are monuments of granite in places that it seems inconceivable to have been built. This will stretch your imagination if you haven't already delved into this line of thought. Looking carefully at the text about Nimrod in Genesis 11 it shows he was going to build a city, with a tower. Keep in mind, the high places were already there. 1 Kings 14:22 And Judah did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins that they committed, more than all that their fathers had done. 23 For they also built for themselves high places and pillars and Asherim on every high hill and under every green tree, 24 and there were also male cult prostitutes in the land. They did according to all the abominations of the nations that the Lord drove out before the people of Israel. Babylon, the city, would have had a ziggurat and maybe remnants of city walls and buildings. In regards to the tower, they would not have had to build it, but more likely to fortify it or add to it. If you focus your attention on the city, then the judgement of confusing the languages makes sense. Otherwise God could have just toppled the tower.
Babylon in Revelation 18 is called the great city. Babylon is the kingdom of darkness. This Babylonian kingdom requires a king to rule the people, and a priesthood to connect to the power of the Elohim. They need a ruling class to rule over the working class, and they need the working class to provide blood, sweat and tears to keep the systems in place. In the case of secret societies, there is a literal blood sacrifice, and the entertainment industry is one example of a system that glorifies this process. The sweat is the finances and labor needed to keep the systems going, for example, builders, teachers, military personnel all feed into the systems of department of transportation, department of education and the department of defense. The last example of the tears is the emotional attachment of the people so they volunteer to be slaves to these systems of darkness. The news and entertainment industry, and even social media, will tug at your loyalty to the systems. Take a step back and look with spiritual discernment to the systems that are in place that require your loyalty at the cost of biblical obedience. The powers of darkness will continue to ratchet their control over these systems until they become literal places of confinement and slavery. Think back to chapter 13 where God warns us about the mark, it is also named after Babylon. The change in the financial system will likely be put into motion by an event that causes chaos, then the Babylonian banking system will have the solution, by freezing your account so you will need permission to spend your money. The choice is not whether or not you accept an implant or get a tattoo, it is either you change to the new system so you can eat or get medical care, or don't take the mark and starve or get sick. The laws are already in place, and the first steps of this have already happened in other nations, so don't be deceived into thinking you just get to choose not to obey. The beast the woman rides on does not negotiate, especially with God's chosen. It is out to devour, so you must be prepared with the truth and power to overcome.
7 But the angel said to me, “Why do you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns that carries her. 8 The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to rise from the bottomless pit and go to destruction. And the dwellers on earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world will marvel to see the beast, because it was and is not and is to come. 9 This calls for a mind with wisdom: the seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman is seated; 10 they are also seven kings, five of whom have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come, and when he does come he must remain only a little while. 11 As for the beast that was and is not, it is an eighth but it belongs to the seven, and it goes to destruction.
When we look at the beast, this beast rises from the abyss. This happens in chapter 20, but in that chapter it's not called, a beast, but a dragon, ancient serpent, devil and Satan. The same terms used in chapter 12 concerning the Jesuit dragon. Now we look at the seven heads/seven kings of the dragon, they don't reign all at once, rather they are consecutive in order, because one was, one is, and one will come, and of the 7 kings, 5 have fallen, one is, and one will come. If you search the bible for serpent, you can find the first 4 heads. Egypt (King/mountain 1) is a serpent in several books of Isaiah, Babylon (king 2) is the serpent in Jeremiah 51:34 “Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon has devoured me; he has crushed me; he has made me an empty vessel; he has swallowed me like a monster (serpent); he has filled his stomach with my delicacies; he has rinsed me out.” and Assyria (king 3) is the serpent against the Philistines in Isaiah 14:29. Greece (King 4) is the serpent in Isaiah 14 and we can find that in reading Gill's commentary for after Nebuchadnezzar and his sons, meant by the "serpent", should come the Medes and Persians, signified by the "cockatrice": and after them the Macedonians or Greeks, designed by the "flying fiery serpent", under Alexander, who should "kill" their "root", take Tyre their metropolis, at the siege of which was a famine; and then "slay their remnant", the city of Gaza, the last of their cities, whose inhabitants he slew. This "flying serpent" is confirmed by Daniel 8:5 as the goat that crossed the surface of the entire earth without touching the ground. Rome (king 5) is the devourer through Herod because of his slaughter of Hebrew infant sons, like Egypt did when Moses was born and is "the beast that was," and quite obviously one of the heads with it's description of the dreadful beast. The Holy Roman Empire (king 6) is the current head of the serpent in this description because this chapter deals with the judgement of the harlot, so the time of the papacy before 1798. The Holy Roman Empire fell, but the Jesuit institution will remain and that fulfills the meaning of the abyss. In chapter 20, this dragon rises as the Vatican (king 7) which is OF the 7 heads of the European sea beast, meaning it's location must be Europe, but is an 8th head of the European sea beast when it becomes it's own sovereign city-state in 1929.
The red dragon rose to power in 1929 as the Vatican became sovereign and the Jesuits AND the papal woman regained their standing, and they follow Babylon, . They are one unit now, serving the secret society Babylonian systems of worship and power. Webb, of course, was the driving force behind the York or American Rite of Freemasonry. As covered in chapter 3, Babylon is also responsible for Kabbalistic Judaism that first formed while the Jews were in exile in Babylon.
12 And the ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received royal power, but they are to receive authority as kings for one hour, together with the beast. 14 They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.”
The 10 horns are covered in the Daniel study and the 10 is prophetic, encompassing the ancient bloodlines that rule the nations behind the scenes. Look carefully at the secret societies at work even in the earth beast of the US. We know that these horns have players behind the scenes making decisions on our fiscal, military, medical and moral laws that don’t agree with the masses. If the beast is truly in charge, then we should see the ideology of the Jesuits being honored and revered. There will be a war on the Lamb, but the Lamb will conquer. In the past the prostitute made war on the lamb, and the lamb was conquered, now WE conquer! Put on your armor, learn the Word and get ready to be victorious. For many years, the horns have been transferring their power back to the beast, but most decidedly in 2024 at the UN Pact for the Future. The ruling powers all agreed to accellerate their adherence to agenda 2030, so that's why chaos has increased across the globe. The UN is the image of the beast that the dragon will use to exert power over people so it can continue to stay in the shadows.

At a certain depth, the story of Vatican power always becomes a story about Rome’s families. The Black Nobility describes Roman aristocratic houses historically aligned with papal authority, especially around the Vatican and the older papal world. These families were not merely ceremonial remnants. They understood continuity. They adapted when political forms changed, preserved influence when sovereignty narrowed, and remained close to the social center of Catholic power.
15 And the angel said to me, “The waters that you saw, where the prostitute is seated, are peoples and multitudes and nations and languages. 16 And the ten horns that you saw, they and the beast will hate the prostitute. They will make her desolate and naked and devour her flesh and burn her up with fire, 17 for God has put it into their hearts to carry out his purpose by being of one mind and handing over their royal power (kingdom) to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled.
This set of verses shows the contrast between the prostitute and the Woman. Starting in chapter 12 and finalizing in chapter 16 we see how the kings, from the King of England, most notably king Henry VII, to the Emperor of France, Napoleon Bonaparte, spoke against the papacy, which fulfills the prophetic definition of burned her with fire. They made her desolate by stripping the popes of land, power and authority. The beast devoured her flesh similar to how we eat the flesh of Jesus (John 6:56) and John ate the scroll. Eating something allows us to take on the identity of what is being eaten, see chapter 10. The beast completely overtook the papacy and devoured the seat of power by forming the Vatican, purchasing the land previously owned by the papacy, and controlling the papacy not only through Vatican I and II, but also when Pope Francis, a Jesuit, rose to power.

Ownership of property before the Lateran Pacts
The unification of Italy had liquidated the ecclesiastical axis through expropriations, but the legislation in force since 1861 severely restricted ownership by ecclesiastical bodies, leaving only what remained within the Vatican walls intact. Ecclesiastical bodies could not be registered as owners of property, so the Italian Jesuits adopted many expedients to deal with this problem.
In many cases, former pupils to whom the property could be registered set up bodies. This was the case of the Società S. Brigida in Brescia, whose founders included the lawyer Lodovico Montini, brother of the future Paul VI, both former pupils of the Jesuits. Lay people and benefactors acted as figureheads in order to guarantee the existence of a legally registered civil institution to which the movable and immovable property of the province could be registered. In other cases, the property was jointly registered to several people, often relatives of the Jesuits. Sometimes property was registered to individual Jesuits but as “private” citizens.
However, these were temporary and precarious solutions, which, in many cases, required continuous sales to avoid the possibility that the owners would die and the inheritance would go to the heirs designated by law and not to the Society. Only after the Lateran Pacts was it possible to draw up new notarial deeds to transfer ownership of the properties to the various provinces and institutions to which they belonged.
With the Lateran Pacts, the Jesuits were once again entrusted with the churches to officiate, but ownership had definitively passed to the State and never returned to the religious orders. The FEC the fund for religious buildings, which is part of the Ministry of the Interior, now, managed most of the churches. The FEC also has its own historical archive, which we recommend consulting to shed light on the confiscation of property and churches after 1861.
18 And the woman you saw is the great city that has dominion over the kings of the earth.
Contrast this verse with the one before. The harlot was burned by the kings, the Woman has dominion over the kings. This verse introduces us to chapter 18 where it further describes how the kings weep and wail at the Woman's burning. This evidence proves that the woman and harlot are not the same, and the popular term Whore of Babylon is not a biblical concept. The great city in Revelation 11:13 was Europe plus the Scandanavian countries, one of the reasons that great city is used instead of the sea beast. A beast can be included in the great city but it describes a group of institutions far greater than just the beast government. We know how many institutions across the planet follow after Babylon because it is so obvious now. They will all have their fall in chapter 18.
Because there will be talks about the Noahide laws in November of 2026, we can look how the dragon and the woman will be instrumental in influencing political decisions on the matter. The door to these laws was opened in 1965 during Vatican II, with the term Nostra Aetate, a revolutionary declaration to include non-Christian religions. From Wikipedia Nostra Aetate The shortest of the 16 final documents of the Council, it is "the first in Catholic history to focus on the relationship that Catholics have with Jews." Similarly, Nostra aetate is considered a monumental declaration in describing the Church's relationship with Muslims. It "reveres the work of God in all the major faith traditions." There is momentum to have an inclusive religion, and those that say Jesus is the only way will be called heretics. Remember how the dragon dealt with heretics in chapter 12. This will come again, we see those martyred in Revelation 20:4. Remember again the parable of the minas, do not hide your coin and remember the words of Jesus. Matthew 10:28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
